Twins Recall Top OF Prospect Arcia From Triple-A

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Twins have recalled outfielder Oswaldo Arcia from Triple-A Rochester.

The move was made before Monday's game against the Los Angeles Angels. Arcia took the roster spot of outfielder Wilkin Ramirez, who was placed on paternity leave after Saturday's game. Players can stay on the list for one to three days.

Arcia was batting . 414 with three home runs and eight RBIs in 29 at-bats for the Rochester Red Wings. The 21-year-old, who signed with the Twins as an undrafted free agent out of Venezuela in 2007, is one of the organization's top prospects. He split last season with Class A Fort Myers and Double-A New Britain. Arcia hit .328 with 10 homers and 67 RBIs in 262 at-bats and 69 games for the New Britain Rock Cats.
