Twins Outright Tolbert, Repko, Slama
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- The Minnesota Twins have outrighted infielder Matt Tolbert, outfielder Jason Repko, catcher Rene Rivera and right-hander Anthony Slama to Triple-A Rochester to create some room on the 40-man roster.
Tolbert, Repko and Rivera all become free agents after the moves announced on Friday. The Twins retain the rights to Slama, but he has been removed from the 40-man roster, which now has 38 players.
That gives the Twins some flexibility as they head into the offseason looking to upgrade a team that lost 99 games and finished last in the AL Central this year.
The Twins also reinstated right-hander Nick Blackburn and infielder Alexi Casilla from the 60-day disabled list.
