Twins Make Moves To Stamp 99 Losses As Aberration
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Twins aren't letting a 99-loss season push them toward rebuilding mode.
They've signed a couple of role-playing veteran free agents, brought back closer Matt Capps after a rough year and extended an offer to outfielder Michael Cuddyer.
Capps says he's excited to return and prove he can pitch better than he did last season. He says he believes 2011 was an aberration and that the Twins will be contenders again even if Joe Mauer and Justin Morneau aren't able to play a full schedule.
The Twins have made a strong push to retain Cuddyer, too, desiring his leadership, steady production and versatility.
