Twins Catcher Joe Mauer Gets Married
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Minnesota's most popular professional athlete is no longer a single man.
Twins catcher Joe Mauer got married Saturday to Maddie Bisanz. The two have been friends since their days at Cretin-Derham Hall High School.
Photos from the day have started to make their way to the Internet. A photo shown right after the ceremony shows the two outside the chapel at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul.
From there, friends and family attended a reception at The Depot in downtown Minneapolis. Some of the guests included current Minnesota Twins Brian Duensing and Glen Perkins as well as former teammates like Jim Thome, J.J. Hardy and Orlando Hudson.
Mauer has been one of the most popular Twins players in the organization since he was drafted by the team. He's won three batting titles and an MVP award with the team.
