Nolasco, Twins Crush Brewers 8-1

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Ricky Nolasco struck out seven and allowed five hits over six-plus innings, and the Minnesota Twins snapped a season-opening, seven-game road losing streak by beating the Milwaukee Brewers 8-1 on Thursday.

Miguel Sano hit his second homer of the year and an added an RBI single for the Twins, who were the only winless road team in the majors entering the afternoon.

Nolasco (1-0) allowed an RBI double to Ryan Braun in the first before settling down and retiring 16 of the next 18 Brewers hitters.

Taylor Jungmann (0-3) struggled for the Brewers, allowing a career-high six walks, four hits and three runs over four-plus innings. Minnesota never trailed after loading the bases in the top of the first and scoring two runs on Rosario's infield single and Eduardo Escobar's groundout.

Nolasco cruised through the Brewers lineup before yielding to the bullpen with one out in the seventh.

The Brewers couldn't break through against Minnesota relievers, either.

For Milwaukee, Jungmann labored through another start. The right-hander's ERA stands at 8.47 after losing his third straight decision.

The bullpen wasn't much better. Sano hit a solo shot off Carlos Torres in the seventh, and Brian Dozier had a solo homer in a two-run eighth off reliever Sam Freeman.
