Twins Blog: The Frustration Sets In
I know how this season looks so far. It's not good. This season is getting off to an awfully slow start.
As fans, we feel defeated. We feel broken. We feel frustrated.
But, honestly, imagine how the players feel.
This past weekend, while on the road in Kansas City, pitcher Carl Pavano let that aggression out. He picked up a bat and took no mercy on a garbage bin in the dugout.
I'm not showing this video to poke fun at Pavano. I can't blame him. In fact, I respect Pavano more. He should be upset. He should be frustrated. All of the guys who put on a Twins jersey and take the field should be too.
Our team is talented. We're fully stocked with some of the top offensive and defensive players in the game. You can make a laundry list of excuses: injuries, bad weather, lots of road games, etc. but at the end of the day, no one remembers the circumstances, they only remember the final score.
A few of the Twins players turned to Twitter to rally their fans:
Denard Span wrote, "We gotta put this in the rear view! I've been through this in the minors and it's no fun at all!"
Danny Valencia added, "It could only get better from here, on to Chicago."
Twins it's time to show we're not fair weather fans. It's not time to give up. The season is young. We ALL need to get back in the game.
