Twin Cities Snow No Match For Boston ... This Year
MINNEAPOLIS (CBS) -- You may think, as a Minnesotan, you've got the rest of the country beat when it comes to enduring wintry conditions. But you'd be mistaken, at least this year.
WBZ-TV in Boston put us to the challenge, pitting our statistics up against those from their little neck of New England.
Even though Minneapolis received record snowfall numbers this December, Boston has since eclipsed their totals. Compare our 60 inches of total snow this season to Boston's 70 inches -- and that's at Logan Airport, where the snow totals are often much lower than the suburbs.
Augustyniak said the snow in Minnesota tends to be much fluffier than Boston, no good for snowballs and snowmen.
He also mentioned that people in Minnesota tend to have a better attitude about winter weather, though that may just be conjecture.
