Twin Cities Musicians Union Responds To Pot Arrest Of Former Member
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The arrest of an accomplished Twin Cities cellist, who was found with $226,000 worth of marijuana inside the trunk of his car in Oregon, has prompted reaction from his former union.
The Oregon State Police say they pulled David Huckaby over for speeding near the small town of Bly at about 12:15 p.m. last Friday. Troopers say they found 113 pounds of marijuana when they searched his car.

Huckaby received a Master's Degree from the prestigious Juilliard School, and the 33-year-old performed with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra for four seasons. He is now in an Oregon jail.
On Tuesday, his former union, the Twin Cities Musicians Union, issued a response:
"Mr. Huckaby resigned in good standing from our Local in March of 2015. We have had no contact from/with David since his request to resign. He is not a current member of our Local, and to the best of my knowledge has been living outside the Twin Cities area for some years."
The investigation is ongoing.
