Twin Cities Film Fest Kicks Off With 'Nebraska'
ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. (AP) -- The Twin Cities Film Fest kicks off Thursday night with a screening of Alexander Payne's new movie, "Nebraska."
Bruce Dern stars in "Nebraska" as a grumpy father who thinks he's won a sweepstakes and takes his son, played by Will Forte, on a road trip to claim the prize.
Other films in the lineup include the Nelson Mandela biopic "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom" and "August: Osage County," based on Tracy Letts' Pulitzer- and Tony-winning play about a dysfunctional family and featuring Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts and Ewan McGregor.
The festival wraps up Oct. 26 with the Midwest premiere of "Nothing Without You," starring Emily Fradenburgh as a psychiatric patient accused of a murder.
The festival is held at the ShowPlace ICON Theatre in St. Louis Park.
