Turkey Jerky Sickens 4, Consumer Advisory Issued
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota health officials say four people have gotten sick from Salmonella linked to turkey jerky.
A consumer advisory was issued Thursday for the whole-muscle turkey jerky produced by Hoffman Town & Country Meat Market of Detroit Lakes.
The company is voluntarily recalling turkey jerky sold on or before Tuesday. The company says the affected product was sold wrapped in butcher paper. Consumers should not eat it, and can return it to the store for a full refund.
The Minnesota Department of Health says of the four people who became ill, one lives in the Twin Cities metro area and the others live in greater Minnesota. All four got sick after eating the turkey jerky. One person was hospitalized, but all have recovered.
