Trucks Arrive To Help Struggling Minn. Families
BURNSVILLE, Minn. (WCCO) -- Three big trucks full of food and essentials for families in need were unloaded on Tuesday in the Twin Cities.
The Salvation Army has identified 1200 families who are getting the supplies that were taken off a truck at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Burnsville.
Each family will receive a 25-pound box of food, a 10-pound box of personal care items and a box of Avon products. The boxes are designed to help a family of four for up to one week.
This is part of Feed The Children's "Americans Feeding Americans" caravan. According to the organization, the number of children living in poverty in Minnesota (156,529) could fill Target Field more than three times.
