Tri-College University Program Expanding From 3 To 5 Schools
FARGO, N.D. (AP) — An affiliation among colleges in the Fargo and Moorhead, Minnesota area is expanding from three to five.
Tri-College University was founded 45 years ago to combine course offerings from North Dakota State University, Concordia College and what is now Minnesota State University Moorhead. It has about 6,000 students.
The expansion will add Minnesota State Community and Technical College, in Moorhead, and North Dakota State College of Science, which is based in Wahpeton and has a campus in Fargo. Both are two-year schools.
The agreement includes an exchange program that allows undergraduate students to take courses at any of the Tri-College campuses without paying additional fees.
Tri-College University provost Tim Flakoll says the expansion should improve graduation rates and help fill workforce needs in the area.
The name will not change.
