Tree That Killed Eden Prairie Woman Shows Serious Decay
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (WCCO) -- The tree that killed an Eden Prairie woman appears to have been seriously decaying, as authorities released photos from the scene on Wednesday.
From the outside of the tree, there were no signs of disease. But Eden Prairie police photos show that the wood inside of the 90-year-old Basswood was decaying.
Nina Mackay, 56, was on a walking trail in Miller Park on July 5, when the tree fell on top of her. Her friend and one of Nina's dogs was also hit when the tree came down, but they were both OK.
