Treatment Center Patient Arrested In Mother's Stabbing
NICOLLET COUNTY (WCCO) -- Authorities say a St. Peter Treatment Center patient stabbed his mother multiple times at Seven Mile Creek Park.
On Tuesday at 6:10 p.m., the Nicollet County Sheriff's Office took a report of a man stabbing a woman at Seven Mile Park. Deputies responded to the scene and arrested Burton James Ewing, Jr., who was allegedly stabbing his mother, identified as 69-year-old Marlys Helen Olson of Coon Rapids.
Olson was airlifted from the scene with multiple stab wounds.
According to Patrice Vick from the Minnesota Department Of Health Services, Ewing, 48, was allowed off-campus liberties and had a pass to be with his mother at the time of the incident.
Ewing is in Nicollet County Jail pending charges of attempted homicide.
Vick says this situation is not related to William Pfeffer's disappearance from the treatment center.
