Totino's Reaches Out To Flood Victim In Viral Video
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Amid the catastrophic news of devastating rains and deadly flooding in South Carolina, one light-hearted moment has gone viral.
A video from WIS-TV's coverage of the 1,000-year storm shows a Columbia resident telling a reporter what she took from her home as she fled the rising waters.
Her answer: "I didn't grab anything but two Totino's pizza out of the refrigerator and my doggie and we left."
The internet has dubbed the woman, whose name is Angela, the "Totino's Lady," and the Golden Valley-based pizza company reached out to her.
The company's social media manager, Katie Sisneros, sprang into action after seeing the video.
"I found out Sunday night, sent an email to my team and immediately hit the ground running, tracking down Angie and figuring out what we can do and as quickly as possible," Sisneros said.
The company says as soon as Angela gets a new home she will be able to stock her fridge with – you guessed it – Totino's pizza.
Totino's says it is also teaming up with the South Carolina Red Cross to help feed flood victims on a larger scale.
