Top Wheelchair Basketball Players Shoot Hoops In Hastings Tournament
HASTINGS, Minn. (WCCO) -- The most competitive wheelchair basketball teams in the country took over the Twin Cities Saturday.
Hastings High School played host to the Courage Kenny Classic. The Varsity and Prep divisions are made up of players ranging from 5 to 18 years old.
Doug Dixon, head coach for the Junior Rolling Timberwolves, calls these kids the most dedicated players he's ever worked with.
"Nobody sees the chairs anymore. They are just a regular guys, and they just play and have a great time," he said. "They are the most dedicated athletes I've ever coached."
The tournament goes through Sunday. Last year, the Junior Rolling Timberwolves took second place.
