Tip Leads To Minn. Arrest Of Mich. Murder Suspect
ROYAL OAK, Mich. (AP) -- Authorities in Michigan say police and U.S. marshals in Minnesota have arrested a 34-year-old man suspected of fatally shooting his ex-girlfriend in front of her children on Thanksgiving.
The Oakland County Sheriff's Department said Thursday that the arrest came in the Nov. 25, 2010, slaying of 39-year-old Fredericka Dixon, who was found with multiple gunshot wounds at a home in Royal Oak Township. The Detroit News says Dixon's children were present when she was killed in the Detroit suburb.
The sheriff's department says investigators got a tip Wednesday that led to the arrest Thursday of Darius M. McCrary in St. Paul, Minn. He's awaiting extradition on a first-degree murder charge.
It's unknown if McCrary has a lawyer. An email message asking that question was left with the sheriff's department Thursday.
