Timberwolves Stand Pat At Trade Deadline
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Timberwolves are standing pat at the trade deadline.
Stuck in 12th place in the Western Conference and four games behind Houston for the eighth and final playoff spot, the Timberwolves declined to make any moves to bolster their injury-plagued roster for the stretch run. With Kevin Love and Chase Budinger not expected to return until the middle of next month, the Wolves desperately need some outside shooting and size on the perimeter.
Derrick Williams and Luke Ridnour both heard their names floated in trade rumors, but both are staying in Minnesota for the remainder of the season. The Wolves' position in the conference took some of the urgency to make a move for immediate help.
The Wolves play in Oklahoma City on Friday night.
