Timberwolves Hosting 'Dunks After Dark' Sept. 29
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota Timberwolves have a lot of new faces entering the season ahead, and they announced Tuesday their plans to tip off the season as they head to training camp soon.
The Timberwolves are hosting "Dunks After Dark" at midnight on Monday, Sept. 29, at Bresnan Arena on the campus of Minnesota State University, Mankato. The doors will be open to the public at 11 p.m. Monday, and the team will take the floor shortly after midnight.
The event is modeled after college basketball's tradition of "Midnight Madness," where teams host their first practices of the season in a fan-friendly event. Timberwolves officials said the event will be free and open to the public. There will be a scrimmage and a dunk contest between rookies Andrew Wiggins and Zach LaVine.
NBA TV will provide live coverage of the event as it tips off training camp for the Timberwolves in Mankato.
