Tickets To Vikings-Packers Rematch In High Demand

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Lots of people are still celebrating last night's huge Vikings win over the Packers.

Many of those fans are trying to get tickets to this weekend's rematch playoff game. As you can imagine tickets are in high demand.

The Vikes defeated the Packers 37-34 Sunday night. They'll meet again at Lambeau Field at 7 p.m. Saturday night.

We all have different ways of showing our purple pride. A day after the big game, allegiance to the team is measured through ticket sales.

As soon as the ball passed the uprights, the phones at Ticket King started ringing.

"Last night it was very busy online. We were flying through tickets," said Michael Nowakowski, of Ticket King.

Vikings fans are already planning to watch the playoff matchup in person, in Green Bay.

"Just the excitement of going to Lambeau, excitement of being in the middle of Green Bay Packers fans and hopefully seeing us win," said Pete McGurran.

Playoff ticket availability is based solely on season ticket holders.

The green and gold must sell their seats in order to make way for purple pride and looking at the internet -- plenty of Packer fans are offering an opportunity to the Vikings faithful.

Right now, the cheap seats are going for about $100. On the lower level, the prices are reaching into the thousands on some sites.

And for those waiting for a better price, may find themselves paying more.

"If they're on the fence as far as price goes, the consumer is best off buying now," Nowakowski said.

Though some would say a couple hundred bucks is a small price to pay to see a border battle in the off season.

"If we go, we want get good tickets," McGurran said. "We don't want to be way up in the top of the stands."

Vikings versus Packers is a match-up that always guarantees a good game.

Buying your ticket from a reputable website is also more of a safeguard against getting ripped off.

Online sites often have ways to get your money back versus buying a ticket on the street from a scalper.
