The 3D Tech That Made Avatar Can Also Fix Your Slice
MAPLE GROVE, Minn. (WCCO) -- From the people who brought you Batman, Avatar, and the Lord of the Rings comes the performance golf lab at Rush Creek in Maple Grove, one of only a handful across the country – and the first in Minnesota.
It's the exact same technology used to make heroes come to life on the big screen. While it might not make you a hero on the golf course, it just might save you from your slice.
Wearing a 3D suit with 34 markers, as you swing the club, a 3D image of your swing is generated.
It's called club fitting, and in less than three hours, you can have a set tailor made to highlight your strengths, and compensate for your flaws.
The performance lab was initially started by TaylorMade to serve its PGA Tour players, before branching out to the public.
The one at Rush Creek has its Grand Opening on Wednesday and an Open House-type event on Saturday.
