Arrest Made In Fatal Shooting Of 17-Year-Old In Brooklyn Park
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- An arrest has been made in connection to the incident earlier this month where a teenager was fatally shot while sitting in a car in Brooklyn Park, according to the city's police department.
The shooting happened on Aug. 17 around 3:45 p.m. on the 5700 block of Brookdale Drive. A 17-year-old boy with multiple gunshot wounds was taken to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.
According to police, the shooter walked up to the boy's parked car and shot him while he was inside.
On the day of the shooting, police said a juvenile male is in custody and that others may be involved.
On Tuesday, police said they obtained an arrest warrant and arrested an 18-year-old man in Minneapolis in connection to the shooting. He remains in custody and there are no other suspects being sought in the investigation.
WCCO does not typically identify suspects until they are formally charged with a crime.
