Teen Unemployment Down, Summer Job Outlook Positive
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development officials say the summer job outlook for teens is looking pretty good this year.
DEED Jobs Analyst Oriane Casale says the unemployment rate for teens in Minnesota is down substantially from the last two years.
Casale says most of the available jobs are in the retail and food service sectors.

"Retail and accommodation food services, restaurants, fast foods, things like that are still hiring," Casale said. "They're always hiring."
She says as an added bonus, many teens earn the minimum wage, which will be going up to $8 an hour in August for most employers.
