Teen Meets Dispatcher Who Helped Save His, Friends' Lives
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- After a near-death experience on a northern Minnesota lake, a teenage boy was able to meet the woman who helped rescue him.
A week and a half ago, dispatchers got a call from three teenage boys who were duck hunting near Duluth. Their boat flooded with water and began to sink.
Dispatcher Peggy Kuer took the call from Bryce Tankski as the 17-year-old kids were swimming for their lives.
"Bryce did an absolutely phenomenal job. He gave me a land address almost immediately which means my partners could get resources started to that land address cutting the time down immensely," Kuer said.
"It was really wild. It was so nice seeing her (and) put a face on someone who was there for me and saved my life," Tankski said.
Kuer said, having helped save his friend's lives with quick thinking, Tankski will have a bright future. He said he wants to be a firefighter.
