Teen girl fighting for her life after shooting near the Somali Independence Day Festival
MINNEAPOLIS -- A teenage girl is fighting for her life at Hennepin Healthcare after being shot in a building along Lake Street and Pleasant Avenue on Saturday night.
"We heard the woman screaming upstairs, then we tried to help her," said Seleban Ali, who attended the Somali Independence Day festival. "A lot of people were here, maybe 200 people or 300 people."
Ali said he didn't hear any shots fired, but heard the screams coming from the top floor of the building on the corner of Lake and Pleasant, which is connected to the Karmel Mall.
