Teen Charged With Killing Family Dog
ALBERT LEA, Minn. (AP) -- An Albert Lea teen is expected in court Monday on accusations he killed his family's Chihuahua with a brick.
Court document say the 17-year-old boy recently used the brick to smash the dog's skull. Family members called police and met officers on the porch where the dog was found next to a cinder block. Authorities say the teen set the dog on the cinder block and used a paver brick to hit its head.
One of the teen's brothers told investigators the defendant was upset because they gave away one of the dog's puppies. The Austin Daily Herald says the teen is being charged as a juvenile with a felony and is scheduled in Freeborn County District Court Monday afternoon.
