Teacher's Aide Charged With Sex With Teen
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A teachers' aide at a school in Shakopee has been charged with having sex with a 16-year-old student.
According to a release from the Dakota County Attorney, Michelle Chlan has been charged with three counts of third degree criminal sexual conduct.
The criminal complaint said that Chlan was working as a para-professional at a school when she met the boy.
Chlan, 26, had given the boy a ride home one time when he couldn't get a ride home from his parents after football practice. The teen said that she gave him her number and said that he could call her if he ever needed a ride again.
The teen told police that she had given him rides to other locations -- a friend's homes, the mall, and a music festival -- and three of the times she had performed oral sex him.
Police said the sexual encounters took place from June 2009 to July 2010 in Burnsville, when the boy was 16. He is now 17.
When confronted with the evidence, police said Chlan admitted to the crimes and said that she knew it was wrong because he was a student in one of the classes she supervised.
Chlan made her first court appearance on Wednesday. Her next court appearance will be on June 6. She remains in custody.
