Target Reassuring Shoppers, Says There's Few Reports Of Fraud
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Target is trying to reassure its customers in the wake of the retailer's massive data breach.
Someone stole 40 million credit and debit card numbers between Nov. 27 and Dec. 15.
On Friday, Target said it is notifying as many customers as possible through email if they shopped during that time.
But Target says if you get an email, it doesn't mean there has been, or will be, fraud on your card.
Target is also offering a 10 percent discount to customers who shop in their stores Friday and Sunday.
The discounter says, so far, they've been few reports of actual fraud.
Target is reassuring customers they will not be held financially responsible if someone steals using a customer's credit or debit card.
