Target Field's Ticket Site Falters During Concert Sale
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- It took less than four hours for the first-ever concert at Target Field to sell out, but buying tickets was frustrating for some.
The Twins say Tickets.com experienced a technical problem that caused tickets to the Kenny Chesney-Tim McGraw concert to be temporarily unavailable.
"It was awful, I hated every second of it," said Jared Christie, who tried to buy tickets on the system.
Christie said he spent two hours fighting with the ticket-buying system.
At first, things went fine, he said. He logged on and within minutes found himself in a virtual waiting room.
"Then an hour went by. Its fine... then bop, things come on, I'm like perfect, I'm in," Christie said.
But the smile on his face was short-lived.
"I'm able to get four tickets right in the section I want. I go to hit continue: Nothing. Continue. Nothing. Continue. Nothing," he said.
The screen froze. He had to start all over again, and he got different seats.
Tickets sales were handled exclusively by the team at Twinsbaseball.com. A spokesperson for the Twins said there was a ticket system technical problem that kept some people from purchasing tickets.
"It was like deja vu, because I did the same thing when the Twins tickets went on sale," Christie said.
This is the second time ticket buyers have had problems with the system used at Target Field. The same thing happened last Spring when general admission tickets from the Twins went on sale.
Die-hard Twins fans were outraged then, just like country music fans were Saturday.
"It was equally just as bad. Either you were getting booted from the system or it was freezing up," Christie said.
Tickets. com and the Twins are apologizing to fans for the mishap.
They said the problem has been fixed and they are investigation the incident to make sure it does not happen again.

By the way, Jared did score four tickets, the website began to work right when he was about to give up.
