Target Brings The Celebs & The Party To Benson, Minn.
BENSON, Minn. (WCCO) -- It could have been any school in the country, but Northside Elementary in tiny Benson, Minn. -- west of Willmar, about 2.5 hours from Minneapolis -- came in first in the Give With Target contest, nabbing a $10,000 prize.
The town also scored a celebration with big-named celebrities such as Gabby Douglas, Luke Bryan and Donald Driver. To score 10,000 votes, it's quite the achievement for a town that only has 3,200 people.
On Tuesday, red carpet blanketed the school, the gym looked like a disco, and the football field became a concert venue.
"It's fun thing coming to a small town and knowing that the town shut down for this," Bryan said.
Douglas said her favorite local restaurant in the Twin Cities is Pazzaluna, and Bryan said you can find him fishing on the St. Croix River.
