Tap Talk: Lift Bridge, Red Cow Team Up For 2nd 'COW-laboration' Brew
After an udderly successful cow-laboration with Colorado's Odell Brewing Co. this spring, Red Cow is raising the steaks.
On Sunday, Aug. 23 the local restaurant will be releasing its second Cow-laboration series brew: the Red Rye IPA.
Restaurant owner Luke Shimp and restaurant "beer guru" Grant Fabel teamed up with Stillwater's Lift Bridge Brewing Co. to create the IPA.
Shimp, Fabel and the Lift Bridge brew masters worked together to create the brew which blends citrusy hops, grapefruit and pine notes and light caramel-y malts. It is medium-bodied with a dry finish.
According to the restaurant, the Red Rye IPA is a great food beer that pairs well with all savory foods. They suggest pairing it with their 60/40 burger or their Brooklyn burger.
Red Cow will release the brew at their beer and cocktail garden at Open Streets Downtown Minneapolis Sunday, Aug. 23.
From 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the corner of 1st Avenue and Washington Avenue, the restaurant will be serving up the new brew as well as their 60/40 sliders, Double Barrel burgers, Chips-n-French Onion Dip sliders and more. Lift Bridge's Farm Girl and Hop Dish will also be available. All beers are $5.
Can't make it to Open Streets? A limited batch will also be on tap at Red Cow's Cathedral Hill and 50th Street locations.
And for east metro dwellers, the beer will be in the Lift Bridge taproom beginning Thursday, Aug. 27.
The limited beer will only be served at Red Cow and Lift Bridge locations.
