Talking Points: Previewing A New Week In Senser Trial

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- There promises to be more courtroom drama Monday, as one of the most high-profile criminal cases in recent memory continues.

Amy Senser could take the stand as soon as Monday in her criminal vehicular homicide trial.

The Senser trial has already provided dramatic moments -- stepdaughter Britanni Senser testifying against her stepmother, Amy Senser waiving her marital privilege allowing Joe Senser to testify and the couples' two young teenage daughters being brought in to testify against their mom.

But by far the most important witness will be Amy Senser.

Criminal Defense Attorney Joe Tamburino has sat through some of the trial and was a guest on WCCO Sunday Morning.

"There are always unknown factors when you put your client on the stand. The pitfalls here is basically three things. She has got to explain how that accident happened, she has got to explain what she was doing circling that area for who knows how long and they are going to ask her about alcohol that is going to be really decisive to the jury," he said.

The defense will be calling other witnesses but they are likely to be quick. The judge has told the jury to expect to get the case Tuesday morning.

You can watch WCCO Sunday Morning with Esme Murphy every Sunday at its new starting time of 10:30 a.m.
