Suspect Who Fled Police In Brooklyn Park Still On The Lam
BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. Authorities were not able to find a suspect Wednesday in Brooklyn Park after he fled from officers with a gun and attempted to break into another home.
The city's police department says officers responded Wednesday afternoon to domestic call at a home on the 8200 block of Brunswick Avenue. The suspect, identified as 34-year-old Andrew Johnson, ran off with a gun. He tried to kick in the door of a neighboring home and threatened to shoot the homeowner.
While officers from several agencies, including a Brooklyn Park SWAT team and a Minnesota State Patrol helicopter, spent hours searching for Johnson, he has yet to be found. However, authorities say they did recover the gun he was carrying.
Johnson is described as a bald Black man with a mustache/goatee standing roughly 5-feet, 5-inches tall and weighing 170 pounds. He was captured on surveillance footage on the 8100 block of Douglas Court North wearing dark pants and no shirt.
Anyone who sees Johnson is advised to avoid eye contact and call 911 immediately.
