Suspect Arrested Minutes After Bank Robbery In Roseville
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Crystal man is in custody Wednesday morning after police said he admitted to robbing a bank.
The most incredible part of the story is how officers made the arrest. Video from a police squad's dash came shows them pulling up to a car with the man standing there, then he throws his arms up in the air. An officer walks toward him, gun drawn to make the arrest.
Police said that incident was just 12 minutes after an armed robbery at the North American Bank Company on Albert Street in Roseville. Surveillance footage shows the man at the bank at about 11 a.m. Tuesday.
A short time after he left with an undisclosed amount of money, officers responding to the scene saw a man fitting the description slamming the trunk on a car parked about 600 feet away from the bank. When police cuffed him, they found he was wearing a bullet-proof vest.
Police identified the suspect as 30-year-old Jake Cogswell, and he admitted to the robbery. Prosecutors are expected to press charges by the end of the week.
