Survey: Nearly 3 Percent Of Minnesotans Identify As LGBT
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A new survey by Gallup says that an estimated 2.9 percent of Minnesotans identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender.
Gallup tracked data from June to December last year, and contacted 4,365 people to determine their results.
The figure indicates a higher percentage than most surrounding states -- Wisconsin, Iowa and North Dakota -- but a lower percentage than neighboring South Dakota, which Gallup estimated at 4.4 percent identifying as LGBT.
North Dakota's 1.9 percent estimate put them in last place among all 50 states.
The national average was 3.5 percent. Click here for more information.
