Survey: Mpls. Workers Are Quite Early To Arrive
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- If the saying "the early bird gets the worm" holds true, a lot of Minnesotans are getting quite a few worms.
A new report from the data website FiveThirtyEight compiled data from the U.S. Census Bureau to find the average time people arrive to work in various cities.
In Minneapolis, the average time people arrive at work is 7:54 a.m. That's one minute earlier than the national average.
The data also found that 25 percent of the Minneapolis workforce is in by 7 a.m., and 75 percent are in by about 9:15 a.m.
Out of all the metro areas in the country, Minneapolis came in as the eighth earliest. At the top of the list are the workers of Hinesville, Ga., who are clocking in on average by 7:01 a.m.
The city with the latest average work arrival time was the city that never sleeps -- New York City averages a work arrival time of 8:24 a.m.
