Surly's 'Darkness Day' Celebrates Stout In Big Way
BROOKLYN CENTER, Minn. (WCCO) - Beer lovers from around the area made their way to Brooklyn Center Saturday for the sixth annual Darkness Day.
The free event is put on by Surly Brewing Company to release their Russian imperial stout beer, Darkness.
People from around the country camped out overnight to get their hands on the beer. Chris Bly came all the way from Indianapolis, Ind. to savor the stout.
"It's one of the best dark imperial stouts around," Bly said. "It's such a nice roasted beer, has...great flavor character and everything that it's really just a can't-miss thing in the Midwest."
Those attending got the chance to buy a 750 ml bottle of the new beer, as well as enjoy food and live music.
