Students Get Ready To Head Back To School
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – With Labor Day marking the end of summer, many kids will be heading back to school this week.
"I'm kind of looking forward to getting back into the groove, I guess," University of St. Thomas junior Megan Nichols said.
It was a mad dash for school supplies at the Roseville Super Target as students made a last minute shopping trip to get ready for the new year.
"I had lots of time, but I was just tired of school at the end. Put it in the corner of my room and haven't really looked at it until now," Como Park Senior High School junior Ellie Thorsgaard said.
Most students seemed excited to be heading back to school.
"To be honest, I'm kind of glad to be go back because there's not a lot to do in the summer as it gets toward the end of August," Nichols said.
"I'm getting kind of bored of summer," Falcon Heights Elementary Schools sixth grader Aidan Schmidt said.
With the kids back in class and out of the house, the start of school also gets positive reviews from parents.
"She wants me to go back because she's tired of taking care of me,"Schmidt said.
"By August the kids are driving me crazy," parent Deb Nichols said. "It's a good time. Everybody gets back into a routine."
