Stranded Motorist Wanted For Sex Assault Of Woman Who Pulled Over

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - Police in Carlton County are looking for a man who posed as a motorist in need of assistance on Interstate 35 and sexually assaulted a woman who pulled over to help him.

The man drove his Ford F-150 to the shoulder of northbound I-35, near Esko, Minn., Tuesday evening.

A passing Good Samaritan pulled over her vehicle sometime between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. and began helping the man with his truck.

The man then crushed the woman's trust in humanity by both physically and sexually assaulting her.

The woman described the man to police as a white man in his late 20s to early 30s, with a short beard and short brown hair. He was wearing a black Carhartt hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and black work boots.

The vehicle was described as an extended cab F-150, possibly the 2003 model, with a black matte finish and black matte low-profile tires.

The photos in this post are of a truck police believe may resemble the assailant's vehicle.

The woman is not in the hospital.

Those with any information relating to the crime are asked to call Carlton County Dispatch at 218-384-9520.
