Storms Knock Out Power, Topple Semis In Iowa
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — A storm system moving through the Midwest has caused power outage across Iowa and toppled semis on Interstate 29.
The Des Moines Register reports about 1,200 MidAmerican Energy customers are without power Saturday evening. More than 800 customers are without power in Council Bluffs, with 400 other customers in the dark in Des Moines and Sioux City.
The National Weather Service is Des Moines has gotten reports of the high winds from the storms toppling at least five semis on Interstate 29.
Several tornadoes have been reported as the storm system moved through the region Saturday. The storm threat was forecast to last into early Sunday.
