Stearns County Man Shot Wife During Car Chase, Police Say
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - A 66-year-old man is in custody, accused of shooting his estranged wife, in a terrifying chase that prompted several 911 calls.
Police say the man and woman were in two separate vehicles on Highway 4 in Stearns County this morning around 10 a.m.
They say the man was chasing his estranged wife, ramming into her vehicle and firing his gun from behind.
When she stopped in St. Cloud, they say he fired several more rounds into her car and then took off.
The 63-year-old woman is hospitalized with at least one gunshot wound, but she is expected to survive.
A Stearns County Deputy spotted her estranged husband's vehicle and took him into custody.
