State Sets 1Q Export Record
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Minnesota exports set a first-quarter record with $4.8 billion in goods shipped out of the state.
Manufactured and agricultural exports rose 13 percent during the quarter with electrical machinery, bulldozers, animal feed and beverages among the products shipped to foreign countries.
Minnesota's largest customer is Canada, which receives $1.3 billion in state exports. Other top markets include China, Japan, Mexico, Germany and South Korea.
The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports the manufacturing sector accounted for most of Minnesota's exports with $4.4 billion in goods shipped.
