The patrol said Lacey Raser, 17, was driving a 2000 Dodge Dakota when the teenager hit 46-year-old State Trooper John Thompson, of Golden Valley. Donald Kahaian, 44, of Eden Prairie, wasn't injured as his Ford Fusion was also involved.
Authorities said the crash took place at 8 a.m. on Highway 212 near Power Boulevard in Chanhassen. The State Patrol vehicle suffered extensive damage in the crash.
Eric Roeske with the Minnesota State Patrol said the State Trooper was headed southbound on Powers Boulevard responding to a crash when the officer was hit by a vehicle making a left turn from the northbound lane of Powers Boulevard to Lyman.
