State Patrol: Serious Injuries In Motorcycle Crash On Highway 55
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Four people were involved in a serious injury crash involving a motorcycle Sunday night west of the Twin Cities, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
Authorities responded to the crash at about 8:02 p.m. Sunday on westbound Highway 55 at Pinto Drive in Plymouth. When they arrived, the State Patrol learned a 2008 Chevy Impala was heading westbound on Highway 55 when it ran a red light and hit two vehicles that were heading southbound on Pinto Drive.
One of the two vehicles hit was a 2008 Kawasaki Road motorcycle with two people aboard. The other vehicle hit was a 2011 Honda Fit. Authorities said a 65-year-old man and 58-year-old woman, both from Minnetonka, were on the motorcycle at the time of the crash.
The State Patrol said it was a serious injury crash, but has not specified how many people were actually injured in the incident. Four people were involved in the crash. The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office is assisting the State Patrol in investigating the incident.
