12 Students, Driver Hospitalized In School Bus Crash
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Multiple students have been injured following a school bus crash in northern Minnesota Monday morning.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash occurred at 8:18 a.m. on Highway 2 east of Lengby, Minnesota.
The Grand Rapids area school bus was traveling westbound on the highway when the driver lost control, entered the center median of the highway and overturned the bus, the state patrol said.
The driver and three students were taken to Fosston Hospital and nine other students were taken to the Fosston Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
District 318 Grand Rapids and Bigfork released more information on Facebook, saying 22 students and one staff member were traveling to the Great Plains Youth Institute in Crookston when the crash occurred.
A bus was dispatched to pick up the students to return them to Grand Rapids. Parents of the injured have been notified.
The crash remains under investigation.
