State Patrol: Bus Evacuated In Woodbury After Passenger Talked Of Bombs
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota State Patrol said one person is in custody and a bus was evacuated on Interstate 94 near Woodbury after a passenger made comments about bombs.
Authorities said a Greyhound bus headed for Chicago, Ill., was stopped on eastbound I-94 near Radio Drive Thursday afternoon after it was reported that a passenger made comments and references about bombs to other passengers and the bus driver. The State Patrol said the bus driver reported the situation, stopped the bus and the passenger in question was taken into custody. Authorities said no direct bomb threat was made.
Lt. Eric Roeske said another person was taken away from the scene by a Metro Transit bus, but it wasn't immediately clear why. Authorities said the bus was evacuated, and another bus is being brought in to transport those passengers on the rest of their trip. The State Patrol is searching the bus to determine if there is a threat. It's not clear how many people were on the bus when it was stopped and evacuated.
The State Patrol is investigating the incident with assistance from Woodbury Police and the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
