State Patrol: Alcohol A Factor Hubbard County Fatal Rollover
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities said alcohol appears to have been a factor in a rollover crash early Monday morning that left one dead and two others hurt.
The Minnesota State Patrol responded to a one-vehicle crash at about 2 a.m. Monday on Highway 200 south of LaPorte near Bemidji. When authorities arrived, a 1997 Chevy Blazer being driven by an 18-year-old man was headed westbound on Highway 200 when it left the road to the right, over-corrected to the left and rolled, coming to rest in the eastbound lane of Highway 200.
The driver of the Blazer, identified as Anthony Hare Jr., was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities said they detected alcohol on him at the scene.
The State Patrol said two others were hurt in the crash, a 22-year-old man and 15-year-old boy, and alcohol was also detected on both of them.
The State Patrol said the crash is still under investigation with assistance from the Cass County Sheriff's Office and the Hubbard County Sheriff's Office.
