Stabbing Leaves 1 Dead In N. Mpls Bus Shelter
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Police are investigating after a stabbing left a man dead in a north Minneapolis bus shelter Friday night.
Sgt. Stephen McCarty said police responded to the stabbing at the intersection of Lyndale and 18th avenues at around 7:30 p.m. Medical personnel tried to revive the victim, who was not identified, but attempts were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
"We haven't had a homicide in a while," McCarty said. "Unfortunately, they do happen."
Investigators spoke with witnesses at the scene, he said. There are no suspects arrested, but police say there does not appear to be a public safety risk.
The victim's identity and cause of death is being released after the investigation.
