St. Paul Couple Takes Holiday 'Stuffing' To A New Level

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The couple wasn't stuffing a turkey or even a holiday stocking but instead Woodbury Police say they were stuffing oversized pants with merchandise from the Kohl's in the Woodbury Village Shopping Center.
Sgt. Curt Zacharias says it's not unusual for shoplifters to resort to extreme measures when committing their crime.
"Altered pants, though we don't endure it that often, is not necessarily that unusual either, especially for those folks that do engage in this kind of behavior quite often," he said.
The two were arrested and face felony charges because police say shoplifting is usually a misdemeanor, but because they used equipment -- the pants -- the charges were increased to a felony.
