SLP Schools Have 'Optional' School Day After Storm
ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. (WCCO) – Officials with the St. Louis Park School District said Wednesday that they had an "optional" school day following the morning snow storm that hit the metro area.
The announcement comes after significant snowfall and ice hit the Twin Cities metro area Tuesday night and Wednesday, making traveling difficult for several motorists and buses. Officials with the school district said all St. Louis Park public schools were open Wednesday, but parents and guardians were allowed to keep their students home as an excused absence.
District officials said part of the reason for the decision came with the timing of the storm. It was too difficult to make a decision in the best interest of all the students in the district.
